Madness, it comes in waves,
crashing against the shore.
Leaving destruction in its wake,
a never-ending cycle, forever more.
Like a siren's song it calls,
luring us with it's haunting rasp.
Taking hold and never letting go,
as we're consumed by its grasp.
Though we try to run and hide,
it follows us whichever way we head.
A demon whose visage won't fade,
a shadow that continues to spread.
For it twists and turns, like a snake
coiling around our minds.
It whispers sweet lies,
gripping us tightly in it's binds.
We struggle to hold on,
to the sanity that we once knew.
Slipping through our fingers,
like desert sands the winds blew.
We lash out in anger,
as we scream and we shout.
But no one can hear us,
in darkness, we're left only with doubt.
But even in the bleakest of times,
we find a way to take one step more.
We must hold onto the rope,
leading us towards the unknown door.
For in the midst of this chaos,
we must do more than just cope.
Finding solid ground to base,
a small glimmer of hope.
So let us embrace the madness,
as we march towards it's very source.
For in the end, we emerge stronger,
and wiser, Maintaining our course.
So let us embrace the madness,
and dance with it in the night.
Darkness loosens it's tight hold,
day's new dawn; breathing life's light.
